Overview

The Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML) Department at SIET, Vijayapura, was established in 2024 with an intake of 30 students.

The department focuses on teaching modern AI and ML concepts, including data science, deep learning, and automation.

With well-equipped labs, experienced faculty, and hands-on projects, students gain practical skills to solve real-world problems. The curriculum is designed to keep up with the latest industry trends, preparing students for careers in AI, research, and innovation.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • PEO 1: Graduates will have the ability to adapt, contribute and innovate new technologies and systems in the key domains of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
  • PEO 2: Graduates will have the ability to explore research areas and produce outstanding contribution in various areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
  • PEO 3: Graduates will be ethically and socially responsible solution providers and entrepreneurs in the field of Computer Science and Engineering with AI/ML Specialization.

 

Program Outcomes (POs)

  • PO 1: Engineering knowledge: An ability to apply basic knowledge of science, mathematics and engineering fundamentals in the field of Computer Science Engineering.
  • PO 2: Problem analysis: An ability to identify, formulate, and analyze Computer Science engineering problems using basics principles of science, mathematics and engineering.
  • PO 3: Design/development of solutions: An ability to design for complex Computer Science and engineering problems using basic design concepts, analyze and process to meet the desired needs with in realistic constraints.
  • PO 4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: An ability to conduct experiments, analyse, interpret the data and results with valid conclusion.
  • PO 5: Modern tool usage: An ability to apply modern tools to model, design, analyze, verify and to solve complex Computer Science and engineering problems.
  • PO 6: The Engineer and Society: An ability to understand the impact of Computer Science and engineering solutions globally, in terms of economic, societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • PO 7: Environment and sustainability: An ability to understand the principles, commitment and practice to improve product sustainable development globally in Computer Science engineering with minimal environmental effect.

  • PSO 1: The Graduates will be proficient in applying knowledge and techniques across Data Structures, Database Management Systems, IoT, Robotics, and Artificial Neural Networks, enabling them to develop intelligent and efficient solutions in these domains.
  • PSO 2:The Graduates will be equipped to analyze complex, multidisciplinary computational problems and develop optimized solutions using modern Machine Learning tools and techniques effectively.
